Current Indiana Abortion Laws

Today's Dobbs decision means that there is no longer a federal right to an abortion, reversing almost 50 years of precedent and overturning Roe vv Wade and Casey v Planned Parenthood. Legality of abortion will be left up to the states, unless Congress codifies a federal protection.

This decision, while expected, is incredibly heartbreaking and appalling. There will be far-reaching consequences for those who can get pregnant, particularly Black women who already face a maternal mortality crisis. We encourage everyone to lean into your communities and support networks, and prioritize your mental health.

Abortion is currently legal within the first 20 weeks of pregnancy in Indiana. Though Indiana does not have a trigger law in place, it is considered to be a state at risk of passing more abortion restrictions in the coming weeks.

You can donate to an Indiana abortion fund, All Options PRC via the link in our bio as well. Additionally, to support abortion funds across the nation, you can donate to the National Network of Abortion Funds.

There are rallies that will be taking place across the nation. To find one near you, visit https://bansoffourbodies-map.vercel.app/
